Concept

 

Zweigstelle Berlin is a commercial gallery space - existing since 2008. Young and upcoming artists are presented mostly in solo exhibitions. The gallery space is located in Berlin's city centre, near Berlin Central Station on Lehrter Str. 37, 10557 Berlin, in close proximity to the Hamburger Bahnhof, the headquarter of Sauerbruch Hutton and in the near neighborhood to the new studios of Katharina Grosse and Karin Sander.

Zweigstelle Berlin has its emphasis in presenting contemporary painting, photography and installation. Young and in their special media very unique and cutting-edge positions are shown in single shows. 

The gallery is managed by Andreas Stucken.

Born 1957 in Bremen, Andreas Stucken initially worked for the "Kabinett für aktuelle Kunst" in Bremerhaven. He  was director and founding member of the "Museum für (Sub-)Kultur" in Berlin and has been president of the "Kunstverein Aichach" since 2001. He has organised and curated exhibitions with various contemporary artists such as Jenny Holzer, Bernard Frize, Sean Scully, Paul Schwer, Ralf Werner, Andreas Bee, Martina Klein, Joseph Zehrer, Stefan Gritsch, Ina Weber, Haubitz + Zoche, Rainer Splitt, Martin Mele, Hermann Pitz; as well as the group projects "Munich School", "International Exhibition of Modern Art", "UWAGA Aichach", "Go Between" (in Turin, Linz, Girona etc.)
